Come spend a day with us at the People & Nature Hub, where we're diving deep into how to create nature-based solutions that truly put people and communities at the heart of climate action.

The day will showcase inspiring examples of equitable nature-based solutions (NBS) projects that deliver real wins for both nature and the people who steward it.

You’ll explore how working with communities meaningfully isn’t just the right thing to do, but also smart business.

We’ll show you how to work alongside communities with transparency and trust, and discuss why investing in people actively de-risks projects for corporate investors, building confidence in the project’s long-term success and impact.

If you’d like to attend, we encourage you to apply early via the sessions’ registration links below as spaces are limited.

BREAKFAST

08.00 - 09.00

 Start your day with us!

Join us for a delicious plant-based breakfast where you can enjoy coffee and connect in meaningful conversations with leading experts in conservation and carbon.

Session 1

09.00 - 10.30

Value of Participatory Approaches and Local Stewardship in Delivering High Integrity NBS Projects

Hosted by

The discussion will focus on how participatory, community-led approaches to nature-based projects strengthen durability and de-risk a purchase or investment into a carbon project.

The requirements of the Plan Vivo Climate Standard ensures a high quality carbon credit that has implications for the project beyond carbon, but also on price and wider impact (social and biodiversity) that can be claimed against the credit. These added costs and requirements to the project result in better delivery, a more sustainable and inclusive solution, ultimately de-risking projects to make them suitable for long term investment.

This panel will include project practitioners from Liberia, Nicaragua, Ethiopia, Cameroon, Madagascar and Mozambique in discussion with a buyer to showcase how value is created and perceived across the value chain.

Session 2

10.45 - 12.45

Creating Social Value from Carbon Finance

Hosted by

Opening remarks by Kisaro Thomas Lombutwa – Masai community member and Carbon Tanzania Project Manager for Makame Savannah

Step into our World Cafe: Carbon Finance for Social Value. Join a dynamic, collaborative dialogue exploring the critical questions at the heart of creating real social value through carbon finance.

This interactive event welcomes anyone interested in delving into the dilemmas and opportunities of ensuring people at the forefront of nature protection experience direct and equitable financial flows from carbon finance.

We’ll explore the conditions under which carbon finance can generate tangible and felt benefits. Come prepared to share and listen, and you will leave with concrete ideas and new connections to collectively advance action for social value in carbon finance.

Join us to explore the technology behind scientifically rigorous avoidance credits, and what sets them apart.

See impact in action through the Ruvuma Wilderness Project, Africa’s largest community-led forest carbon initiative, and find out why these are the carbon credits you can count on.

Session 4

15.15 - 16.45

High-Integrity Insetting: Strengthening Supply Chains, Communities & Ecosystems

Hosted by

Driven by emerging regulations and voluntary standards, companies are increasingly investing in their supply chains to meet climate and nature goals. These efforts, if high-integrity, have the potential to transform landscapes, support biodiversity, and bolster the resilience of producers — all while advancing global climate mitigation and adaptation goals. However, without a holistic approach that prioritises communities and nature and drives sector-wide transformation, carbon-driven supply chain investments risk failing to deliver critical and sustainable outcomes for people, biodiversity, and the climate.

In this session, we will hear from companies, NGOs, and investors on how they are partnering to scale nature-based solutions within agricultural supply chains. Join us to explore collaborative approaches, practical steps, and innovative solutions for achieving high-integrity insetting in the FLAG sector. Together, we can drive meaningful change for climate, nature, and communities.
